SHARED FIRE COMMUNITY
CELEBRATION TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN
From 10 am-7.30pm The Taste of the Scenic Rim area will include a return of the street food truck revolution with QLD’s best mobile chefs presenting gourmet fare home grown and supplied by our local producers. There will also be a licenced area where you can buy and consume wines and beers from across the region while you watch the show.
From 10 am you can set up your picnic spot on Geissman Oval for a day of live music, family fun sports activities, roving theatre and arts activities that are part of the Shared Fire Community Celebrations for Tamborine Mountain that will run all day. Tamborine Mountain Arts Collective are organising Artisan Alley – a row of pop up studios showcasing local makers, arts markets and come and try opportunities.
From 1.30 Pm-5.30pm The Cabaret stage will feature local performers from across the mountain and across the region who took part in the IN cabaret mentoring with Women in Voice in 2017 and who participated in Open Mic sessions throughout 2017 and 2018.
From 3.30-5.30 look out for random acts of frivolity as Goat Track Theatre Company present Birds of a Feather roving entertainment around the event site.
At 5.30pm sculptural fire pits will be lit and will be the focus for community story sharing with local storytellers.
At 6.30pm as the sky darkens the Shared Fire Ceremony begins. Ignited by Indigenous welcome, fire ceremony, storytelling, the Scenic Rim Peoples Orchestra and a fire and light procession this is an event you won’t forget in a hurry!

Beaudesert EASTER MONDAY!
Jubilee Park in the centre of town is the site of the Beaudesert Shared Fire Community Celebration. Located at the crossroads that lead to all the mountains, national parks and great camping sites in the Scenic Rim, Jubilee Park is the ideal location for townies, nearby residents and visitors to enjoy the fun of these celebrations close to home or their vacation destination.
Adjacent to the Beaudesert pool and home to the Beaudesert Museum, Library, basketball half-courts, skate park and adventure playground, this beautiful park will be a hive of activity.
From 4pm to 7.30pm on Easter Monday the food truck revolution makes its way to Beaudesert. The Taste of the Scenic Rim area in the park will feature Retro food vans and street food vendors serving up incredible gourmet fare home grown and supplied by our local producers and a designated licenced area where you can consume and purchase local wine and beers. There will be a picnic atmosphere in the air. The community has been busy making decorations and banners to transform the space. There will be roving street theatre, live entertainment, arts markets plus a vintage car and bike display to check out. Chill out in the park as the kids discover the jumping castle, face painting and family fun sport activities.
As night begins to fall gather around the sculptural fire pits for our community story sharing event and from 6.30pm enjoy the Shared Fire Ceremony featuring welcome and storytelling by traditional owners, The Scenic Rim Peoples Orchestra, the flock fire and light procession and finally a massive laser light show sponsored by Beaudesert Chamber of Commerce.
